ROCHESTER, NY - Our reporter attended the Lilac Festival on May 18, 2024, and found a booth collecting signatures to place Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the presidential ballot in New York. We requested an interview with a canvasser named Kimberly, who agreed after we explained our commitment to combating systemic anti-Whiteness with fair, race-oriented coverage.
New York State Ballot Access and Polling Data
Our discussion begins with New York state ballot access and current polling related to RFK Jr.
The third-party candidate is currently polling at 15% in two of the four nationwide polls he needs to qualify for the debates. RFK Jr.'s team is also promoting head-to-head polling, showcasing his strong nationwide polling above 10%. Achieving over 10% in national polls is exceptionally rare for third-party candidates; according to Intelligencer, “this has only happened four times in the last 75 years.”
Notably, two of those candidates were the segregationist George Wallace in 1968 and the billionaire Ross Perot in 1992, both of whom, like RFK Jr., had distinct and unique branding.
Race Relations and Anti-Whiteness
After discussing other topics, we returned to the subject of anti-Whiteness and race relations as they relate to the RFK Jr. campaign. At times, we found Kimberly seemingly unwilling to discuss the taboo of White rights in any sense.
As this is a fairly common experience for our reporters, we did not press the issue beyond a one-time, recorded response. When we asked Kimberly if she felt dialogue was a fair response to those discussing anti-Whiteness, she responded:
"...Sure! We love dialogues, it's all about dialogue and debate, that's what we want to bring back. Everybody feeling safe to express their opinion and people being respectful of other people's position, that's important. Bobby is also very much for protecting the First Amendment of free speech..."
Kimberly also briefly discussed social media censorship and ‘hate speech’ soon thereafter, which can be heard in the audio.
